Mmmm...smores

Everett made his first smores this winter....he loved roasting the marshmellows, and loved eating the smores. We went to see the Christmas lights at a place called James Island--they were awesome!--and they had all sorts of fun things to do there, including making smores....I think this will become a yearly tradition!!

Cousins

This Thanksgiving we went to Augusta and spent the week at Matt's parents house (KK and Papa's). We had a house full of people--Matt's brother Brian and his wife Angela, their two kids Jackson and Jonathan, Matt's sister Andi, Scotty, Matt's parents, Grandma, and of course us. So, needless to say, there was always something to do, but it is always so fun to be with family. We are so thankful that we live close enough to family to be able to spend time with them.
The picture is of the boys with their cousin taking a bath at KK and Papa's house--one of their favorite activities! They won't be able to do this much longer--they are out growing the bath tub!! They will love this picture in a couple of years........

UGA Homecoming
Daddy and Everett in front of the stadiumHere are some pictures from when we headed up to Athens for the Georgia-Troy game and Homecoming Weekend. It was Reid's first UGA game and he had a ball!! (see above picture!) My mom was able to come with us and the boys loved being with their Nai Nai!
Both the boys have become true dawg fans, but Everett did say at the end of the day that he liked to watch the game on TV better because he could see the yellow line....

Buzz and Woody....
The boys were Buzz and Woody for Halloween and had a great time! I have to say that they are pretty stinkin cute!! We loved getting to see everyone in our neighborhood, and we are so thankful we are here! The boys don't know what to do with all the candy ( I mean HUGE bags full!!) because they don't really get much candy except at this time of the year--so mom and dad are helping them! Also, I have to add that I made Woody's vest--I know not a great accomplishment for most, but I am not a seamstress, so I was pretty happy with the results!!

Carving Pumpkins
These are some pictures from when we carved our pumpkin--one of my most favorite things. You don't see Reid in these pictures because he tried picking some of the "pumpkin goo" out of the pumpkin, and he gagged and almost threw-up. After that he was pretty much done with carving the pumpkin.....I thought boy were supposed to like being gross and dirty.....

Pumpkin Patch

These are a couple of the pictures from the many pumpkin patches we visited this year! Reid just loves pumpkins and we have to stop to marvel at the one that he painted every time we walk out our door. I love pumpkin patch pictures because it means that fall is here (in theory--it is 85 degrees in Charleston today...) and the holidays are coming! My favorite time of the year!! Halloween pictures are coming...i haven't had time to upload the pics today, but hopefully they will be posted tomorrow! Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!10.31.2007
Reid's Birthday

(look closely and you can see his spit flying all over the cake--bet you were glad you didn't eat that! ....sorry if you were there and you did!!)
Here are some pictures of Reid from his 2nd birthday party. He LOVES Diego these days, so the Diego cake was the highlight of the day (even though the day before he told me he didn't like cake--or birthday parties,......he is definitely two!) We had another great day with wonderful weather and lots of fun friends and family to celebrate with. Reid is quite the ladies man, as all the kids at his party were girls!!
Again, I can't believe he is two!! We have loved these past two years and are so thankful to be his parents!!

Everett's 4th Birthday Party
Friends,
bouncy castles,What more could you need for a GREAT 4th birthday party?
We had a beautiful day--a welcome break from the heat!--and we played in the backyard with family and friends in Summerville. We are so thankful that God has given us so many wonderful friends to live life with while we are here--we are so blessed!!!
Also, I can't believe how fast my kids are growing up...4 already??

First Day of K-4
Here is Everett on his first day in his new K-4 class. (three weeks ago, I know...) His new teachers are Mrs. Appleby and Mrs. Metter and he is really enjoying it!! I feel like he has grown up a bit from being around kids that are 4 and 5...he came home the other day and asked me why Jonathan named his son Mephibosheth...he thought it was kind of hard to say...um, yeah, me too.

Reid and his new best friend...

When Everett starts K-4 on Monday he will be going everyday!! Reid will miss him so much--everytime we drop him off at school Reid says " I need my Everett." and today he asked me to come back and sit in Everett's seat so he would have someone to play with. I had a little trouble explaining all the reasons I couldn't sit in Everett's seat, size being a big one, driving from the backseat being another. Needless to say it is going to be an adjustment for Reid, so I think his friendship with Bu ---the most amazing cat around children, by the way---will come in handy thse next couple of weeks. I am not going to mention how Mama feels about this going to school everyday---can he really be that big? am I ready to let someone else influence him everyday? We do LOVE the school he is going to. His new teacher is wonderful and loves the Lord, so i guess I just need to do a little letting go.....so much for not mentioning it huh?

First Day of School and stories...
Everett's first day of school was last week and he LOVED it! He was a little nervous about going, he's not a huge fan of change, but when i picked him up, he told me "I didn't want to go to school today, but now I don't want to leave." So I think he is going to be a school dork like me!!
He is starting to read, so they are looking into moving him up to the K-4 class...I will post more about that if it happens!
Reid is entering into such a fun stage! His new thing now is he loves to play hide and seek, and today he started playing with the cat. Yes, hide and seek with the cat. Here is what it looked like:
Reid: Mommy where's Bu (the cat)?
Mommy: I'm not sure. Why don't you look for him.
Reid: (with a huge smile) Bu is playing hide and seek!!
1, 2, 13, 17, 19,...ready here I go!
Is he on couch? No.
Is he on puter (computer)? No.
Is he in fidgerator? No.
...on and on and on and on....
They have such great imaginations!!
Bu, by the way, was asleep upstairs, totally unaware that he was playing the most fun game of Reid's life!!!

Tummies burping...
Funny Story--I am a terrible story teller, but I thought I just had to share this one. So Matt was just running around with the boys and Everett had a little gas. I said "Everett, what was that? Did you have gas?" (kind of smiling at him) Looking at me very seriously he said "That wasn't gas mommy, my stomach just burped." Boys are so funny (and kind of gross)!!! But I've got a house full of them and I love them!!

4th of July

We had a great July 4th ( I know I am late, I am trying to catch up!!) cooking out and watching fireworks at church with our Sunday School class. The boys had a great time "playing with the big boys"--the older kids who were sweet enough to play with them, even though they really couldn't quite play! We are so thankful for how much we feel at home in Summerville--God has turely blessed us with so many fun, sweet friends!!
